Irish multi-asset pension funds post 6.8% gain for 2025

Irish multi-asset pension funds made an average return of 6.8 per cent in 2025, according to Rubicon Investment Consulting.

Rubicon described it as a “robust” result in a year marked by turmoil in the financial markets over trade tariffs and anxiety surrounding artificial intelligence (AI).

Its latest Rubicon Multi-Asset Pension Fund Survey found that performances varied across the group.

For example, the Cantor Fitzgerald Multi-Asset 70 Fund made the highest return with 12.7 per cent, while Standard Life’s MyFolio Active V recorded the lowest return at 2.6 per cent.

Over the medium term, the average three-year return of Irish multi-asset pension funds is 12.3 per cent, per annum. Meanwhile, the five-year average stands at 8.1 per cent, per annum.

Looking over the long term, Rubicon noted that Irish multi-asset funds have consistently demonstrated long-term growth.

Its survey found that over the past 10 years, the funds have returned 7 per cent, per annum, on average.

Over 15 and 20 years, the average returns have been 8.3 per cent and 6.1 per cent, per annum, respectively.

Rubicon said the figures highlight the resilience of multi-asset strategies across multiple market cycles and varying economic conditions.
